Ryuzo pass, Shizuoka

Bamboo forest stop, beaver Jim was telling stories of wild monkey attacks the last time he was here. I think he was bullshitting me. LOL

Top of the pass was closed due to a rock slide, we tried to get through, since we were on dual sports, but alas had to turn around at the gate.

I have NEVER seen so many tight ass blind turns, convex mirrors everywhere. If a vehicle was coming the other way, you would be hosed. Absolutely NO room for error.

Deal's Gap freaks make me laugh, Ryuzo is ten times more difficult. Japanese mountain roads are NOT for the timid.

Green tea farms on STEEP ridges roadside, some had electric fans mounted on poles to protect the tender leaves during cold weather.

Ongoing construction of new tunnels &
bridges. I must admit that the Japanese are master tunnel builders. Topography of the land demands the use of smart civil engineering.

If you look real carefully in the pic below, you can view Fuji San in the background.
